Accessibility
Statement

How we build Secondary AI to work for everyone — regardless of how they access the web.

Accessibility is not a feature. It's a baseline expectation.

We are committed to ensuring Secondary AI is usable by every educator and student — including those who rely on assistive technologies, keyboard navigation, or high-contrast display modes. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time checklist. We regularly review our application, conduct audits, and listen to community feedback to identify and address barriers.

"Inclusive design makes better products for everyone."

— Our accessibility philosophy

How We Build

Four pillars of
accessible design.

Visual Design & Readability

We prioritize clear, high-contrast text and layouts. Our light and dark themes are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios. The user interface is built to be responsive, ensuring a consistent experience across devices and allowing for browser-level zoom without breaking the layout.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements — including buttons, links, and form fields — are accessible via keyboard. We use logical focus order to make navigation intuitive for users who rely on keyboards or other assistive input devices. A skip-to-content link is available on every page.

Screen Reader Support

Our application is built with semantic HTML and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes where necessary. This provides screen reader users with a clear understanding of page structure, interactive elements, and content — ensuring a compatible experience with JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

Interactive Elements

All interactive elements have clear, descriptive labels. Buttons and controls are designed with sufficiently large tap targets to be easily usable on touch devices and by users with motor impairments. Focus states are always visible and clearly styled.

Ongoing Commitment

Accessibility is a journey, not a destination.

If you encounter any accessibility issues or have suggestions for improvement, we want to hear from you. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us build a more inclusive platform for every educator and student.
