AI Transparency
AI Transparency
& Ethics
Our commitment to building AI that empowers educators while prioritizing student safety and learning outcomes.
AI should empower teachers, not replace them.
At Secondary AI, we believe transparency and ethics are not add-ons — they are foundational. Every feature we build, every AI model we use, and every decision we make is guided by a core principle: AI in education must serve the learning goals you set, remain under your control, and never compromise student safety or privacy.
"You remain the expert. AI is the tool."
— The principle behind every feature we build
Our Principles
Six core principles
that guide us.
Pedagogy Before Technology
AI should be implemented only when it meaningfully supports your learning goals. We won't talk you into AI adoption for its own sake. Instead, we help you understand how AI can responsibly enhance the outcomes you care about. Our transparency principles exist to ensure you can make informed decisions about when and how to use AI in your classroom.
Your Content Stays Private
Your materials are never used to train public AI models. We have strict data processing agreements in place that ensure your content remains private and is used exclusively to power YOUR AI workflows. Your intellectual property and curriculum stay yours, always.
Teacher-Centric AI
Our AI is a tool to empower, not replace, the educator. You remain in control of pedagogy and decision-making. AI assists with feedback and grading, but teachers always have the final say. You can review, adjust, or override any AI-generated content.
Human-in-the-Loop
AI provides suggestions and initial drafts, but you are always the decision-maker. Every AI-generated grade, piece of feedback, or insight is presented transparently in your dashboard for you to review. Nothing is implemented without your deliberate approval.
Bias Mitigation
Regular audits and refinements ensure fair treatment of all students regardless of background, identity, or learning style. We actively work to identify and reduce algorithmic bias in all AI-generated content and assessments.
Explainable & Transparent
We document how AI works, what data it uses, and its limitations. No jargon, no black boxes. If you have questions about how a piece of AI output was generated or why the AI made a particular recommendation, we can explain it clearly.
Transparency Throughout
