Data Handling
& Privacy
What we collect, how we protect it, and our core privacy commitments.
Responsible data handling isn't optional — it's what makes AI safe to use in schools.
Every design decision we make about data starts from the same question: what is the minimum information we need to deliver genuine educational value, and how do we protect even that? We collect less than most platforms, store it securely, and never use it in ways that serve anyone other than the teachers and students we work with directly.
"Your data powers your classroom. Nothing else."
— Our core data principle
Our Principles
Five ways we keep
your data safe.
Teacher Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optional information like your school and subjects taught. This data is essential for personalizing your AI workflows and enabling features like customized chatbot creation and tailored lesson planning. You retain full ownership and control over all your content — we never sell it to third parties.
No Student Accounts Required
We do not require students to create accounts. Students interact with chatbots by simply providing a name or anonymous ID — eliminating the need for email addresses, passwords, or any other personal information. Teachers can enable Anonymous Mode, where students only provide an anonymous ID, minimizing the collection of personally identifiable information to zero.
Student Interaction Data
Student conversations with chatbots are stored to provide feedback, grading, and insights to teachers. If anonymous mode is disabled, we temporarily use the student-provided name for the session, viewable only by the teacher. In anonymous mode, only the anonymous ID is used. All data is designed so it can never be traced back to individual students in aggregated analytics.
No Data Selling — Ever
We will never sell your personal information or student data to third parties. We may use aggregated, anonymized data — which cannot be traced back to any individual — to understand usage trends and improve the platform. Your trust is the foundation of our business, and we treat it accordingly.
Data Storage & Location
Servers are currently located in the United States with industry-standard security measures. As a Canadian company, we are actively working towards providing data storage options within Canada to offer additional regional data residency choices for schools that require it.
AI & Your Data
How AI uses your content.
Your materials and your students' conversations are never used to train public AI models. Your content powers your chatbots and your workflows — and yours alone.
